We are taking a look at some of the “I am ” sayings of Jesus and the stories that illustrate those statements.
This Sunday we are looking at Jesus’ statement, “I am the light of the world” in John 8:12, and the ensuing story of the healing of man born blind, in John 9:1-41.
Think about different kinds of light, all the various ways light works; perhaps your favourite kinds of light, what they mean to you.
Look at the story in John 9.
What do you think Jesus might mean by the statement here repeated “I am the light of the world”?
How do the Pharisees demonstrate their blindness?
Think about the man in the story and his journey to faith. Have you made a similar journey, and what did it cost?
How has following Jesus changed the way you see things? Where do you need more of that light in your life?
